In order to equal level four of the Code for Sustainable Homes for their new build development in Dursley, house builder Bloor Homes required solar technology. Following an EcoMaster specification from Redland tiles Brown roofing was asked to supply and manage the installation of Redland’s roof integrated Solar PV tiles alongside Double Roman interlocking concrete tiles and Duo Plain concrete plain tiles. The Bloor Homes Littlecombe housing development is a mixture of social and privately owned homes and the installation of 219 Solar PV Tiles provides 18.1kWp of electricity. Of the 21 homes that received PV tiles all were eligible for the highest rate Feed-In-Tarrif meaning not only was the purchaser entitled to free & green energy, they were entitled to a healthy profit from the government payback scheme guaranteed for 25 years.
Being an NICEIC MCS certified roofing contractor Brown roofing can guarantee a PV installation which provides the end user with payback from the governments FIT scheme.
